Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Scientists of the Central Botanical Garden of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) attended the “1st National Congress on ornamental plants” which was held in the city of Karaj (Iran). At this congress, organized by the Research Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology, Iran, our country was represented by the head of the laboratory "Floriculture" CBG, ANAS PhD in biology Asef Isgandarov and employee of this laboratory Ofelia Gafarova.

At the event, discussions were held on the theme of the introduction, hybridization and molecular plant breeding. Azerbaijani scientists spoke on “Introduction and breeding roses in Azerbaijani gardens.”

Note that, along with Azerbaijani scientists, the congress has brought togehter experts from Turkey, the Netherlands, Japan and other countries.
