Institute of Geology and Geophysics (IGG) of ANAS hosted for 90th anniversary of Doctor of geological-mineralogical sciences, prof. Rasmi Asad oglu Abdullayev, who had great merits in development of geophysics in Azerbaijan. Opening the event President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh briefly acquainted the attendees with R. Abdullayev's life and creativity. The academician who highly estimated the scientific potential of the scientist told about his merits and achievements in the field of development of geophysics. He noted that the scientist has developed methods of processing of seismic data that found reflection in its monograph. R. Abdullayev is the author of numerous scientific works. He prepared scientific shots not only in the field of engineering geophysics, but also in the sphere of seismic investigation. Then acted students of celebrant: Prof. Parviz Mammadov, doctor of geological-mineralogical sciences Akif Aliyev and others. They noted that, being the scientist-researcher, R. Abdullayev was also engaged in pedagogical activity for 40 years. He was a scientific advisor of 16th postgraduate students who are citizens of Bangladesh, Vietnam and Congo. Anniversary action was continued by performances of R. Abdullaev’s friends and family. There was some interesting information that Abdullayev was the son of the famous Azerbaijani philanthropist Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev’s daughter Sureyya Aliyeva and spoken about family in which he was raised. In conclusion, documentary about the scientist was shown.
