Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry hosted for the meeting of the Scientific Council

An online meeting of the Scientific Council was held at the Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry of ANAS.

Opening the meeting, ANAS Vice-President, Director of the Institute, Academician Dilgam Tagiyev said that all necessary measures had been taken on the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev to prevent the threat posed by the COVID-19 virus in Azerbaijan, social isolation rules had been applied in the country. a quarantine regime has been declared and mitigation has begun. Emphasizing that the institute established its activities in accordance with the requirements and recommendations of the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers, academician D. Tagiyev noted that the offices and laboratories of the institution are regularly disinfected and employees are provided with protective masks, alcohol and other protective equipment.

Then the issues on the agenda were considered. After extensive discussions, one laboratory of the institute was abolished, and the head of three laboratories was appointed.

The meeting also discussed the topics of scientific work of 7 bachelors, who were admitted to the master's program of the institute this year with high scores in 4 specializations, and the issue of approval of scientific supervisors. The scientific supervisors and scientific works of the masters were approved taking into account the proposed changes.

It was noted at the online event that the 120th anniversary of the Honored Scientist of the Azerbaijan SSR, academician Habib Shakhtakhtinsky will be held on September 10 by the decision of the Presidium of ANAS.

Then it was decided to partially change the composition of the Scientific Council of the institute.
