The number of exhibits at the Azerbaijan National History Museum to be increased

The construction of a new exposition has commenced in the National Museum of Azerbaijan History of ANAS, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary.

The number of exhibits will be significantly increased due to the installation of additional showcases in the new exposition. Along with the display of historical exhibits, it is going to use interactive and multimedia tools. Thus, large-scale plasma monitors, touch screens and tables, devices for displaying holographic images have already been installed in the exhibition halls. Currently, the work is being carried out in several directions in parallel. The museum staff places the exhibits in the showcases, prepares writing, descriptions and additional information about them, and at the same time, IT specialists compile programs, descriptions and writings that will be placed on interactive and multimedia equipment.

In advance, the work began in the "Stone Age in Azerbaijan" hall of the exposition. If before the renovation there was one projector, now there are two large and one small monitors. The first large-scale monitor shows the sequence of states that historically existed in the territory of Azerbaijan, their territories. The second large monitor installed in the hall shows documentaries about the rock paintings of Gobustan and Gamigaya. The third monitor provides information about the events that took place in the Stone Age in Azerbaijan.

4 large and 5 medium-sized showcases are placed in the new exposition. Along with the numerous exhibits preserved in the museum's Archaeological Fund, the exhibits will include new exhibits discovered as a result of archeological excavations in recent years and added to the museum's collection. The first group of these exhibits to be displayed in the nine showcases of the hall consists of paleontological samples found in Binagadi Lake, Gazakh and Shamakhi. Among these specimens, a stone with a pelvic trace of an ancient creature was presented for demonstration for the first time. The next group of exhibits consists of Paleolithic-Mesolithic finds from Azykh, Taglar, Gazma, Damjili and other monuments: bone fragments and stone tools. The oldest examples of these exhibits belong to the Guruchay culture. Finally, the last group of exhibits to be displayed in the Stone Age Hall is the Neolithic-Chalcolithic finds. These exhibits found in I Kultepe, Shomutepe, Gargalartepe, Ismayilbeytepe, Alkhantepe and other monuments, along with stone products, consist of pottery, bone and metal objects.

At present, the next stage of preparations is being carried out in the Stone Age Hall. Exhibits are set upon special podiums, numbered, annotations are prepared, illustrative materials are conducted for publication.
