Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The first volume of the treatise "On the Latin language" by the ancient Roman scholar Mark Terentius Varro was published in the Azerbaijani language.

The book was translated from English by Aysel Ahmadov, a researcher at the Department of Ancient Languages and Cultures of the Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi. The editor of the book and the author of the "Preface" - Ph.D. Ilham Jafarsoy, reviewers - Doctor of Philology, Professor Aslan Mammadli and Doctor of Philology Sevinj Aliyeva.

Although the work is called "On the Latin Language", it is rich not only in information about the Latin language, but also about the history, culture, religion, ethnography and literature of Ancient Rome.
