Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

For the first time in the history of our independence, national transliteration standards have been developed at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

Stated by Deputy Director of the Institute of Linguistics, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology Baba Maharramli.

According to him, the rules of national transliteration of geographical names in Azerbaijani into Russian and English have been prepared and submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers for approval. In addition, standards for transliteration of 7 derived words in the Azerbaijani language - Russian, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Persian - have been developed.
