International Sulcis Summer School on Carbon Capture and Storage to be held

The third edition of Sulcis CCS Summer School, organized by ENEA, University of Cagliari (Department of Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry and Materials) and Sotacarbo, will be held at the Sotacarbo Research Center of Carbonia (CI) from 13th to 17th July 2015.

The CO2 released into the atmosphere contributes to global warming. CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) technologies can reduce CO2 emissions level, capturing carbon dioxide before it’s been released and then injecting it into deep subsurface rock formations for long-term storage.

The Sulcis Summer School is open to 40 students from all over the world with a background in engineering, geo-technologies and socio-economic disciplines.

Lessons will be mixed with practical training in the “field”. All registered students are enabled to access the e-learning platform of ENEA ICT Technical Unit (http://elearning.enea.it) where they can join a special learning program on CCS.
