Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On November 21, 2013 at Institute of Philosophy, sociology and the right of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS) the international scientific-theoretical conference “Information Technologies and Philosophy” was held.

At the conference devoted to the World Philosophy Day,founded by UNESCO, along with scientists of Azerbaijan, scientists and experts from France, Italy, Brazil and Morocco took part.

The conference was organized with the support of the Institute of Philosophy, Sociology and Law of ANAS and the National Commission of Azerbaijan for UNESCO.Opening the action, Director of institute, professor Ilham Mamedzada told about scientific institution run by it, about the done work and the forthcoming tasks.It was noted that Day of philosophy is founded by UNESCO 11 years ago. In this regard in the afternoon annually in Azerbaijan the international conferences stimulating to development of philosophical science are held. In connection with the announcement in our country of 2013 “Year of ICT”, present conference is devoted to the subject “Information Technologies and Philosophy”. The vice-president of ANAS,academician Isa Gabibbeyli made a speech at action and congratulated the staff of institute on World Philosophy Day and wished them successes.Speaking about the importance of studying of philosophy, the academician told about a role of philosophical knowledge in preservation of moral purity of society, stability, emphasized the importance of philosophical postulates in deep development of other sciences.Having praised the works which have been carried out for philosophical science in our country after restoration of independence, I.Gabibbeyli declared that the philosophical school of Azerbaijan having ancient traditions, and will successfully develop from now on.Having noted that, as well as other areas, and philosophy will open on ideology of an azerbaydzhanstvo, the vice-president of ANAS told that the founder of this ideology is the National Leader of our people Heydar Aliyev. This ideology unites in itself universal values.Over recent years a number of written and the books devoted to this ideology and propagandizing it are published. Books of the head of Administration of the President of Azerbaijan Republic, academician Ramiz Mekhtiyev are fed with this ideology. These works play an important role in definition of the new directions of modern philosophical science.Speaking about positive reforms in ANAS, he brought to attention that among the forthcoming works – establishment of a professional holiday of scientists of Azerbaijan, the announcement of 2015 in our country “Year of science” and other important questions.Welcoming the participants, the first secretary of the Azerbaijan National Commission for UNESCO Gunay Efendiyeva said that World Philosophy Day is celebrated annually across the world cycle events.The subject of philosophy passes in all programs of UNESCO the red line.In their implementation invaluable merits of the First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva.At conference reports on the subjects “Economic Problems of the Present”, “Information and Philosophy”, “of exit ways from universal crisis: contribution which the philosophy”, “Can bring development of ICT and a problem of historical memory in the conditions of globalization” and etc. were heard.
