The next meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics (IGG) of ANAS was held.

Opening the meeting, Director of the enterprise, academician Akif Alizadeh congratulated the staff of the enterprise on the victory of the victorious Azerbaijani army under the wise leadership of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.

A.Alizadeh then acquainted the council members with the scientific and organizational issues on the agenda of the meeting. The academician gave detailed information about the interdisciplinary research work to be carried out at the GGI in the development of renewable energy sources and technology for the application of mineral raw materials.

Speaking at the meeting, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences Abdulvahab Mukhtarov presented a final report on the research work on "Compilation of the geothermal atlas of Azerbaijan and the cadastre of geothermal energy resources" and answered questions.

The meeting also discussed with interest the program of research work of academician Fakhraddin Gadirov on "Geophysical detection of underground military communications and assessment of geological threats in the territory of Karabakh". F.Gadirov's report on the activities of the branch of the Department of ''Seismology and Subsoil Physics'' of Baku State University was also heard at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics.
