Experts from the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) have tested the engines of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket launcher in Mississippi.
At the NASA test complex, four engines mounted on a special support worked for about a minute at a time. However, it was expected to last about 8 minutes.
NASA Director Jim Bridenstine told a news conference after the tests that although not everything went according to plan, very important information was obtained.
SLS project manager John Honeycutt said an automatic system had been put in place to shut down the engine.
