Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

ANAS Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography held event dedicated to 25th anniversary of 20 January tragedy. Martyrs who sacrificed themselves for independence of motherland and territorial integrity have been commemorated for a minute of silence.

Director of the institute prof. Maisa Rahimova dealt with events of 20 January and stated that national leader Heydar Aliyev expressed his condemn to the Permanent Delegation of Azerbaijan to Moscow and only after his return to power these events gained the legal status.

Making speech on bitter results of the tragedy, acad. Teymur Bunyadov and others noted the necessity to encourage them in the world’s platform.
