Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The world-famous film company Netflix has recently published a study by Zaur Aliyev, Scientific Secretary of the Institute of History of Science of ANAS, Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science, Associate Professor, on the introduction of Islam to Indonesia by Azerbaijanis “Layla – Majnun” film.

The film was shot in Baku and Indonesia.

The author of the study, Zaur Aliyev, said that the reference in the film was to his research on Malik Ibrahim, who spread Islam in Indonesia.

It should be noted that for the first time a well-known company such as Netflix referred to an Azerbaijani scientist in its film.
