An online event on "The role of women in scientific, cultural and socio-political life" was held at the Institute of Folklore of ANAS.

The event on the occasion of International Women's Day - March 8 was organized by the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Folklore Institute and the Trade Union. Opening the event, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the Institute, PhD in philology Nail Gurbanov greeted the participants and said that Azerbaijani women really play an active role in scientific and cultural life, as well as in the socio-political life of Azerbaijan.

N.Gurbanov noted that in our classical literature and folklore, attention, respect and care for women have always been glorified.

Then the chairman of the trade union of the institute, PhD in philosophy, Associate Professor Tahir Orujov said that in the history of civilization there was no area of society where women could not work successfully. However, at certain stages of history, the role of women in society has varied depending on social attitudes. The development of the women's movement and the transformation of women into a great power in society coincided with the second half of the twentieth century. Throughout history, Azerbaijani women have been distinguished by their intelligence, wisdom, loyalty and heroism.

The chairman of the Women's Organization of the Institute, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Maleyka Mammadova thanked the speakers for the congratulations and said that an educated mother can raise a better child for society. She noted that women dominate in our society, mainly in the field of education, and on behalf of the organization he represents, expressed deep gratitude to the leadership of the institute and the organizers of the event.

From the members of the Women's Organization of the Institute, Ph.D., Assoc. Nigar Hasanova and Nigar Imamaliyeva also wished all the women of the institute to show their scientific achievements and move forward.
