Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

An event on the occasion of March 8 - International Women's Day was held at the Central Scientific Library of ANAS.

Speaking at the event, Director of the Central Scientific Library, Professor Mammad Aliyev congratulated the library staff on the significant day. In his speech, M.Aliyev stressed that the Azerbaijani woman took an active part in the socio-political and cultural life of the republic, always carried out a sacred mission with selflessness in defense of the homeland and demonstrated high heroism both on the front and in the rear during the war.

At the event, the chairman of the Women's Council of ANAS, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Rena Mirzazadeh, in turn, congratulated the women on this occasion and spoke about the purpose of the event and the active role of Azerbaijani women in society in general. Speaking about the scientific activities of women employees of ANAS, Rena Mirzazadeh spoke about the achievements of Azerbaijani women in the field of science in the history of the country, socio-political life, gender equality in science as a whole and the wide opportunities created by the state.

Then, a video on the history of March 8 - International Women's Day, prepared by the CSL staff, was shown.

At the end, CSL employee Matanat Mukhtarova sang the song "Mother" on the piano, the lyrics of which belong to Fikret Goja and the music to Sevil Aliyeva.
