Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Ashig Alasgar, the Azerbaijan Ashugs Union has published the book "Lyrics".

The book was published with a comprehensive foreword by the head of the department of Azerbaijan oral folk literature of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS, doctor of philological sciences, professor Maharram Gasimli. The book was prepared for publication by the chairman of the Azerbaijan Ashugs Union, Honored Scientist Maharram Gasimli and the secretary of the Azerbaijan Ashugs Union, Honored Cultural Worker Musa Nabioglu. The editor of the publication is Altay Mammadli, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, Associate Professor.

The book consists of four chapters and includes "Garayli", "Goshma", "Tajnis" and "Mukhammas". There is also a dictionary of archaisms and words of Arabic-Persian origin used in the poems of the ashug.
