Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

As reported, the next online meeting of the General Meeting of the Department of Physical, Mathematical and Technical Sciences of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) was held on April 2.

Director of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics, corresponding member of ANAS Misir Mardanov reported on the state of scientific journals at the academy.

He noted that global events, natural disasters, food shortages and other serious global problems can be solved only with the development of science. The scientific development of each country, its state policy in the field of science and scientific personnel, the level of training of specialists, the scientific weight of its achievements as a result of research have a direct impact on its reputation among the international scientific community.

Misir Mardanov noted that the ranking of scientific journals in the Web of Science and Scopus for 2020 has not been announced yet. However, the results of 2019 show that our country ranked 92nd out of 231 countries in the Scopus list and 90th out of 153 countries in the WOS list...
