Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Institute of Microbiology hosted the event devoted to March 1 – “World Day of Civil Defense” on February 27, 2015.

The event was opened by Chief Staff of Civil Defense of the institution Bakhtiyar Yunusov who noted that, since 1972, March 1 is being celebrated as the World Day of Civil Defense by the decision of the International Civil Defense Organization.

Informing that, Azerbaijan’s membership to this international organization since 1993, B.Yunusov noted that the main challenges of the organization are the CD public safety and preparedness in the field of civil defense emergency.

It was noted that the main goal is to prepare CD plan of preventive measures for alleviating emergencies, as well as the implementation of preventive measures against industrial accidents and other incidents during emergencies.

Then, exchange of views was held on the subject.
