Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

“JW Marriott Absheron” hosted the International Conference “North Atlantic Alliance of NATO after the summit of Wales and cooperation between the partner countries”, March 19, 2015 at 10am.

The event co-organized by the Human Rights Institute of ANAS, NATO representation in Azerbaijan and the Embassy of Romania in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Event was attended by MPs, Emergency Situations, Defense, Homeland Security, Interior and Foreign Affairs Ministeries, Military and General Prosecutor's Office of AR, as well as representatives of other ministries and committees, international organizations, scientists and representatives of mass media.

Opening the event director of the Institute of Human Rights of ANAS, Dr. Law Ayten Mustafayeva provided information on the spreading integration of our country into global organizations, importance of Azerbaijan-NATO ties, privacy challenges of states locating in the South Caucasus geostrategic region etc.

First section of the conference focused on prospects of collaboration among North Atlantic Alliance and the partner countries.

NATO General for Political Affairs and Security Policy Steffen Elgersma delivered a lecture on “Azerbaijan-NATO ties in modern world”.

Second sector of the conference touched upon NATO's relationship with partner countries in the Caucasus, as well as the implementation of the agenda of the NATO Summit in Wales.
