May 8, Institute of Linguistics of ANAS held event devoted to the 92nd anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

Director of the institute, academician Tofig Hajiyev spoke about the historical merits of the national leader Heydar Aliyev. It was noted that the successes achieved in the field of democratic development, legal state building and civil society are directly linked with the name of great leader Heydar Aliyev.

In this respect, national leader Heydar Aliyev paid special attention to the development of the Azerbaijani language. Mother tongue is the national wealth of the people, confirmation of its existence. Language is one of the important factors that play an important role in shaping the nation. The historical path, the cultural level of the people in the first place is reflected in its language.

The academician said that giving the Azerbaijani language the status of state language, expansion of its capabilities is an irrefutable role of Heydar Aliyev.

In his speech, Professor Ismail Mammadov, Sevil Mehdiyev and Gulu Maharramli said that the policy of Heydar Aliyev in the development of the Azerbaijani language is successfully continuing by his worthy successor of President Ilham Aliyev. Language policy, historical merits of Heydar Aliyev in the development of the national language is a real school.
