Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

As every year on the occasion of the International Museum Day ANAS Huseyn Javid’s Memorial Flat hosted the "Open Day" on May 18, 2015.

On this occasion at Huseyn Javid's Memorial Flat was visited by more than 235 people. Museum’s guides acquainted the visitors about life and works of the great philosopher Huseyn Javid.

Note that, by the decree of International Council of Museums (ICOM) this year the slogan of International Museum Day is "Museums for sustainable society".

The main purpose is to strengthen the role and place of museums in social and cultural life of community.

By the initiative of the International Museum, International Museum Day is celebrated every year since on May 18, 1977.

As a rule this holiday is carried out under the slogan of to assist for cultural exchange and collaboration among peoples.
