Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Within the framework of President Ilham Aliyev’s Order “On the celebration of the 130th anniversary of Academician Mustafa Topchubashov”, an exhibition was held at the Central Scientific Library (CSL) of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).

The exhibition was jointly organized by the Azerbaijan State Republican Scientific Medical Library and the Central Scientific Library.

The exhibition showcased books, collections, and scientific articles by M. Topchubashov, as well as publications and bibliographic resources dedicated to him from the collections of both libraries. It also featured his medals, orders, certificates, diplomas, and personal portrait preserved at the Azerbaijan Museum of Medicine.

In his opening remarks, Huseyn Huseynov, Doctor of Technical Sciences and Director of the Central Scientific Library, noted that a jubilee event dedicated to Academician Mustafa bey Topchubashov had recently been held at the ANAS Presidium, and this exhibition serves as its continuation. He added that the publications on display, which are not currently available in the CSL collections, will soon be digitized and made accessible to readers.

Director of the Republican Scientific Medical Library Yegana Piraliyeva expressed her gratitude to everyone who contributed to organizing the joint project, especially the CSL management. She noted that the library extensively used CSL’s electronic resources while preparing the latest bibliographic index of the academician and emphasized that interlibrary cooperation further expands opportunities for readers and researchers.

Director of the Azerbaijan Museum of Medicine, Sevinc Maniyeva, highlighted M. Topchubashov’s outstanding contributions to the development of Azerbaijani medical science and education, as well as the innovations he brought to world medicine. She stated that his name and legacy continue to serve as an inspiring example for younger generations.

After the speeches, guests and readers viewed the exhibition. Later, visitors who got acquainted with the library’s facilities were presented with CSL reader cards.
