A New Episode of the “My Homeland” Program Dedicated to Prominent Playwright Jafar Jabbarli Has Been Broadcast

The sixth episode of the “My Homeland” program, dedicated to the prominent playwright Jafar Jabbarli, has been broadcast on the Culture Channel.

The program, presented by Academician Rafael Huseynov, Director of the Nizami Ganjavi National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature, explored Jabbarli’s short story “Baku,” written in the final days of his life, his relationship with his close friend Ismayil Hidayatzadeh, his deceased brothers, and his work as a translator.

Reflecting on the life of the prominent playwright, Academician Rafael Huseynov noted that Jafar Jabbarli possessed a sense of foresight and the ability to make early preparations for shaping the future he envisioned. He emphasized that Jabbarli was among those who understood that they came into the world with a mission. Within the time allotted to him, he was determined to accomplish all that he had set out to do until his very last hour. He was a person ready to devote everything he had to the stage, literature, culture, and to the bright future that his people aspired to see.

The program also addressed the play “Aydin,” which reflects a tragedy unfolding against the backdrop of social and family relations, as well as the lasting relevance and enduring interpretation of this work.

It was noted that the prominent playwright considered his work “Return,” written in 1932, to be the finest work of his career.
