Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On December 4 at Baku State University (BSU) hosted an event dedicated to the 80th anniversary and the 55th anniversary of scientific, educational and social activities active member of ANAS, State Prize Laureate, Honored Scientist, Knight of “Glory”, the Presidential Scholar, head of the department of Solid State Physics, BSU, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences,Professor Bahram Asgarov.Addressing the meeting, rector of BSU, academician Abel Maharramov spoke of the valuable contribution of the scientist in the Azerbaijani science, and his exceptional contribution to the formation of young scientists. It was reported that successfully graduated from high school in 1952 Bahram Asgerov entered the Physics and Mathematics of the physical separation of the Azerbaijan State University (now BSU).Having graduated from the university in 1957,B.Askerov continued training in internal postgraduate study as a physicist of semiconductors at Institute of physics of Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.After defending his dissertation continued his scientific work at the Institute of Physics.

Dean of the BSU Faculty of Physics,Professor Mamedali Ramazanov mnade a report on the scientific heritage of Bahram Asgarov.It was emphasized that Bahram Askerov is the author of over 140 scientific articles, four books, seven books, too - supervisor of 12 PhD theses and scientific consultant 4 doctoral theses.The academician Ziyad Samedzade who has made a speech at action, the director of Institute of mathematics and mechanics of ANAS, professor Misir Mardanov, professor Gazanfar Pashayev,director of Institute of physics of ANAS, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences Nazim Mamedov, director of Institute of Radiation problems of ANAS, corresponding member of ANAS Adil Garibov and others congratulated the hero of the anniversary and wished it success.

In summary Bakhram Askerov expressed gratitude to organizers and participants of action.
