The monograph “Oil and gas industry - the basis of sustainable development strategy of the Azerbaijan Republic” was published by lead researcher of ANAS Institute of Economics Sulduz Salimov in Moscow.

This monograph describes the main issues related to the status and development of oil and gas industry, the mining of natural resources in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The evaluation of the role of energy in sustainable development of the global economy, energy and external economic security of the country, transit export oil and gas from the Caspian region and Azerbaijan's geopolitical space. The methods of choice of rational uses of revenues from oil and gas exports, which will ensure the sustainable development of the Republic of Azerbaijan to form an effective economic structure, methods of management of oil revenues, the role of the oil fund in achieving sustainable development, the role of international financial institutions in the economic development of the country.

The book is intended for government officials involved in the preparation and adoption of strategic and investment decisions in the concept of sustainable development. It may be useful to undergraduates, PhD students of economics and persons interested in the problems of the sustainable development strategy.
