"Repertoire of master storytellers" bulk released

Institute of Folklore of ANAS published a bulk of "Repertoire of master storytellers".

The new edition is the first book dedicated to Azerbaijani storytellers’ tales. The book reflected the oral heritage distinguished by their handwriting style of the tale, a rich repertoire of four narrators - Narysh Bayramov (Agjabedi), Musa Bayramov (Barda), Ali Suleymanov (Agdam), Abbas Abbasov (Jabrayil). These storytellers have been identified during the missions (2012-2014 years), organized within the framework of the Karabakh project of the Institute of Folklore. Holders of these different professions storytellers even from an early age showed great interest in oral folk art, thanks to a strong memory, they remember the samples of folklore, they heard from their parents and elders. Despite the fact that they are unaware samples of various genres, the basis of their repertoire consists of a fairy tale, and their skill is more pronounced in this genre. These storytellers enriched the repertoire of Azerbaijani tales with new stories, new types of contamination, giving new Azerbaijani folk tales, unlike traditional options like information capacity and features of the option.

The book, which was published by the publishing house "Science and education", gave a detailed biography of narrators, briefly characterized the oral heritage, and includes selected examples of oral folk creativity.

The author of the project is the director of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, corresponding member of ANAS, Mukhtar Imanov, scientific editor - PhD in philology Rza Khalilov, materials were gathered by PhD in philology Ilkin Rustamzadeh.
