Scientific conference devoted to Alagha Vahid’s 120th anniversary

Electron conference hall of the Institute of Literture of ANAS held scientific conference devoted to Alagha Vahid’s 120th anniversary.

Opening the conference Vice-President of ANAS, director of the institute Acad. Isa Habibbayli stressed out the importance of the Order by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev “On holding 120th anniversary of Alagha Vahid” dated March 18, 2015 and informed about life and creativity of ghazel poet who was renowed not only in Azerbaijan, but also in Near East. Being successor of Fuzuli traditions Vahid has been one of the notable representatives of ghazel genre in modern Azerbaijan literature. Poet’s biography has an interesting and unique aspects and his ghazels differs with simplicity of poetic language, and harmony. Taking part in "Majmaush-shuara" literary assembly in Baku at the young ages and penning lyrical poems, Vahid then exposed social drawbacks, ignorance, cruelty and injustice in his satirical poems. Great poet who collaborated with "Communist" newspaper and "Molla Nasreddin" journal has propogated feelings of love to the Motherland, hate to enemy and hope for victory in his poems written during the Great Patriotic War, noted I. Habibbayli. 

Later on, employees of the Institute of Literature – Dr. Philology Mahira Guliyeva delivered a lecture “Alagha Vahid’s poetry in the boundary of classical literature” and PhD in philology Safura Guliyeva “Ghazelkhan of contemporary Azerbaijan poetry”.

Poet’s creativity merits were told in the speeches on topics.

Noted that, naming great Fuzuli his master Vahid thoroughly benefited his literary style, aruz rhytms, means of description and expression, rhyme and radif and has achieved fullness of meaning and fluency of expression in his creativity.
