Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On November 12, lyceum Baku-Ataturk with the joint organizational support of the lyceum and Institute of History of ANAS under the project "Let’s posses our historical figures", held a conference on “Great azerbaijanian Heydar Aliyev”.

At the conference, director of the Lyceum Ali Devrim stressed the importance of the project in terms of popularization of historical personalities among students. Reminding the legacy of national leader Heydar Aliyev "One nation - two states", director spoke about friendly relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan and prospects for cooperation in the field of science and education.

Project Manager, Director of the Institute of History, correspondent member of ANAS Yagub Mahmudov spoke in detail about the historical past of Azerbaijan, the unity of Azerbaijan with Turkey and Wikipedia provocations against historical figures. Y.Mahmudov also informed the participants about the historical merits of the national leader Heydar Aliyev to the Azerbaijani state and people: "With the return of great leader Heydar Aliyev to the leadership of Azerbaijan in 1993, the country has prevented civil war and chaos."

Historian noted that the project will be continued in other schools of Baku and in the regions of Azerbaijan.

Then a member of the organizing committee, young historian Roya Yagubova briefed about the project "Let’s posses our historical figures", and noted that the first conference, held in the framework of the project was dedicated to prominent statesman Shah Ismayil Safavi.

The event was attended by the Head of the Public Association "Eurasian Institute of International Studies" MP Ganira Pashayeva. She made speech on the historical merits of the prominent statesman Heydar Aliyev to the state.

The conference was also attended by the professor at Turkish Gazi University Selma Yel, chairman of the Public Association "Graduates of Turkish Universities" (GTUPA) Chingiz Bayramov, president of the Mirza Alakbar Sabir Foundation, Assistant Professor Sevda Tahirli and employees of the Institute of History of ANAS as well.
