ANAS Institute of Physics hosted for the next meeting of Department of Physical-mathematical and Technical Sciences on November 16.

Meeting was attended by representatives of the institutes, as well as CEO of Science Development Foundation under President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elchin Babayev. Director of the institute, Academician-secretary of the department, corresponding member of ANAS Nazim Mammadov opened the meeting and introduced the guest – employee of Astronomical Center of the Nicolas Copernicus University of the Republic of Poland, Jacek Krelovski.

Later on, Director of Shamakhy Astrophysical Observatory (SAO), Dr. Physics-math, Prof. Namig Jalilov informed on the astrophysics and noted that, this sphere has already reached to the level of world science and developed in Azerbaijan significantly. Taking into all these factors, SAO enhances ties. In this respect, Prof. J. Krelovski has been invited to the Observatory. Within the 10 days of visit will be discussed collaboration opportunities, examined devices and the guest will deliver a lecture on the prospects of SAO.

Meeting continued by J.Krelovski’s lecture on topic “Prospects for studying interstellar environment of Shamakhy Astrophysical Observatory”. Topic was discussed and questions were responded.

Finally, pursuant to the decision of the Presidium on awarding the employees of the institutes with Honorary Diplomas on the occasion of 70th anniversary of ANAS, scientists of the Department of Physical-mathematical and Technical Sciences were presented Honorary Diplomas.
