Poll Taylor, leading anthropologist-researcher of U.S. Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History,director of Asia's cultural history program, attended in a meeting at ANAS Institute of Manuscripts with a group of scientist and specialists.
In a meeting, Academician-secretary of ANAS Department of Humanitarian Sciences, director of the institute, Acad. Teymur Karimli informed the guests on the manuscript study of Azerbaijan, spoke about ties of the institute via world’s several museum, library and research institutes in the field of investigating of manuscripts. We are willing to collaborate via research centers of the U.S. due to enhance our ties, he stated.
Guests provided information about cooperation in developing a electron map and a data bulk of ethnographic monuments throughout “Baku-Tbilisi-Jeyhan” pipeline joint with Azerbaijani researchers. After meeting, American guests got familiar with electron versions and waxworks of the manuscripts, exhibition of ancient books and catalogued materials in the exposition hall of the institute.
In closing, guests wrote down their wishes on a memorial book.
