First phase of an innovative inter-branch project is successfully carried out

ANAS Institute of Botany jointly with the Center for Scientific Innovation and the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics carry out inter-branch research project "Prediction and reducing the threat of extinction of species diversity of endemic and rare plants in the flora of Azerbaijan."

Under the direction of corresponding member of ANAS Valida Alizadeh for the purpose of population-ontogenetic analysis, compiled a list of rare plants and developed a special monitoring system aimed at determining the parameters of complex developmental patterns of populations.

For this purpose since April of this year, project participants conducted numerous field studies in different regions of the country (the eastern part of the Greater Caucasus, Talysh and Guba region).

For the first time in republic extensively studied the state of populations of rare species included in the Red Book of Azerbaijan, and the results were incorporated into the dynamic database, created by the Center for Scientific Innovation and Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics.

Along with the display of such features as a form of life of rare species, environmental groups, the distribution of environmental groups and species of botanical-geographical regions and vertical stripes, figures for categories of endemism and rarity, ontogenetic state and the population structure and useful properties, this electronic-information base also includes options that enable you to analyze and summarize the changes in the species composition and dynamics of the plant.

The project is focused on the assessment of biodiversity and ecosystem dynamics further.
