“Protection of cultural-religious heritage in Caucasus” international conference held

“Protection of cultural-religious heritage in Caucasus” international conference co-organized by Institute of Human Resources and AR State Committee of Work with Religious Organizations, was held in “Monolith Plaza”, December 4.

Opening the conference Director of the Institute of Human Resources, Dr. Law Ayten Mustafayeva spoke about violence committed by Armenian invaders against our monuments in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.

Later on, chairman of the AR State Committee of Work with Religious Organizations, PhD in History Mubariz Gurbanli stressed out that, historically the territory of Caucasus had been a multinational place, in particular, shifted into an example of tolerance in the world for its multicultural values. Monuments of the different religions and ethnic minorities are under special state protection, as part of protected world cultural heritage, he said.

Then, “Armenian vandalism in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan” film was displayed.

In the event, were listened lectures on topics “Destruction of Christian and Islamic monuments in the occupied Azerbaijani territories”, "Udins and the Albanian church in the multicultural environment of Azerbaijan", "Ongoing violation of human rights: similarity between apartheid policy in South Africa and occupation of Azerbaijan as a result Nagorno-Karabakh conflict”, "Destroyed historical monuments in 1918 - march genocide in Baku and other Azerbaijani territories" etc.

Lectures conducted the necessity to protect the existed religious-cultural monuments in the territory of Caucasus and deliver to further generations as world cultural heritage.
