Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

An issue on a visit of Aziz Sancar, honorary member of ANAS, Nobel Prize laureate to Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was discussed as well at the regular meeting of the Presidium of ANAS.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli, President of ANAS, said that Aziz Sancar, Nobel Prize laureate was elected an honorary member of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences at the General Meeting of ANAS held on November 29, 2023.

An invitation by Academician Isa Habibbeyli was sent to Aziz Sancar to visit the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. The aim is to present him a diploma on honorary member of ANAS as well as organize the meetings of Aziz Sancar with the scientific community of the Azerbaijan Republic. An invitation was accepted by the Nobel Prize laureate with great pleasure. A decision was adopted by the Presidium to organize the visit of Aziz Sancar, Nobel Prize laureate to ANAS during May 30 to June 6 at a high level.
