Articles co-authored by Academicians Jalal Aliyev, Irada Huseynova and PhDs in Biology Durna Aliyeva and Alamdar Mammadov dubbed “Subcellular localization and responses of superoxide dismutase isoforms in local wheat varieties subjected to continuous soil drought (2014 Aug; 81; 54-60) published on the Plant Physology and Biochemistry journal and “Hydrogen peroxide generation and antioxidant enzyme activities in the leaves and roots of wheat cultivars subjected to long-term soil drought stress (2015 Aug; 125 (1-2): 279-89), published on the “Photosyntehis research” journal, shares the first and second places on the top 20 list of selected articles in this area, reports Kerry Hernst, representative of Free Info Service for Articles. Top list was elected from the articles published on the world’s prestigous journals with impact factor.

“Plant Physiology and Biochemistry” is an official journal of the Federation of European Societies of Plant Biology and the French Society of Plant Biology, published by “Elsevier” and is of impact factor 2.756. While “Photosynthesis Research” is an official journal of International Society of Photosynthesis Research, with impact factor of 3.502 and is published by “Springer”.

Note that, articles have been devoted to studies of Azerbaijani scientists in photosynthetic apparatus of wheat genotypes, which long termed drought-affected and changes in antioxidant defense systems.

All studies were held at ANAS Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.
