Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Institute of Genetic Resources held meeting with participation of Vice-President of ANAS, Acad. Ibrahim Guliyev, director of IGR corresponding member of ANAS Zeynal Akperov and director of the Institute of Physology Dr. Biology Ulduz Hashimova.

In a meeting, wide exchange of views on priorities of Azerbaijan science that put forward by President Ilham Aliyev in the 70th anniversary event of ANAS were discussed, as well as efficiently use of scientific equipment and scientist capacity, transfer of modern high technologies, role of international coordination and foreign scientific ventures in staff training etc. were research objects.

Academic Ibrahim Guliyev stressed out the carrying out serious structural changes and science-based reforms in the last 3 years, strengthening the logistical base of most institutions, integration of science and education, and importance of involving talented young people capable of fluent foreign languages, to the Academy. He recommended to the directors of the institutes to acquire, collect and disseminate research results of scientists which published in international journals.

Informing on the activities and staff potential of the institute, director of IGR Zeynal Akperov drew attention that, transferring from traditional methods to molecular and genomic level in the genetic resources field is a demand of modern era.

U. Hashimova made speech on carried out studies in the institute and noted the opportunities for conducting of multidisciplinary research in the mentioned field.
