Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On December 17, Sheki Regional Scientific Center (SRSC) of ANAS hosted an event to mark the 65th anniversary of the prominent representative of Sheki literary environment, worthy successor of Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh’s school, chairman of Sheki branch of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union, senior lecturer of Shaki branch of AIU, the famous poet Vagif Aslan.

Opening the meeting, Director of the SRSC, PhD in Physics-maths, Associate Professor Yusif Shukurlu spoke about the life and work of the famous poet.

Next, acting head of the Department of Folklore and crafts, PhD in Philology Kamil Adishirinov and fellow of the Center Reyhan Mejidova congratulated the poet's 65th anniversary.

During the event, hero of the day was awarded the certificates of appreciation prepared for him by the staff of newspaper "The Tower of culture."

Poet's pen friends Bahram Mammadov, Aga Ramazan, Elchin Abdullayev and Alaskar Davudoglu’s speeches aroused great interest. Regional correspondent of the newspaper "Respublika" Ilham Panahli, employees of the publishing house "The European publishing and printing" Matanat Riggat and Sadagat Mirza also congratulated the poet and wished him success in his future activities.

Speaking at the conclusion Vagif Aslan thanked SRSC team for organizing the jubilee event.
