ANAS Sheki Regional Scientific Center held commemorative event devoted to martyrs of 20 January tragedy.

In advance, event attendees remembered victims of the tragedy for a minute of silence.

Director of the Center PhD in Physics-math, senior lecturer Yusif Shukurlu highlighted this tragedy as a date of heroism which demonstrated to whole world the Azerbaijani people’s unbreakable will of independence. Also he underlined that, national leader Heydar Aliyev supported his people at those difficult times and after returning to the power gave legal-political assessment to bloody January events.

Then, researcher of the Center, historian-scientist Habibulla Manafli, who has been witness of those years, spoke about horrors of this 20 January and noted that this tragedy never be forgotten.

Junior researcher of the Center Elchin Veliyev, researcher Aygun Ismayilova, senior assistant Reyhan Majidova and others expressed their respect to memory of martyrs, died for sake of independence and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
