Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The meeting was held at the Presidium of the Academy under the leadership of the President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli. It discussed publications prepared regarding the 80th anniversary of ANAS.

Speaking at the meeting, Academician Isa Habibbeyli provided detailed information about the monographs on the anniversary of the Academy, intended for publication. He noted that the book “Prominent Personalities” is already in its final editing stage. The Academician also spoke about the printing preparation processes of the monograph “Heydar Aliyev and the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences”, some works concerning the development paths of the Scientific Divisions of ANAS, an Introductory book in Azerbaijani, Russian, and English, and bibliographic references of prominent academicians who previously held leadership roles in the institution. The head of ANAS highlighted scientific-historical significance of the publications that are decided to be printed, gave relevant instructions to complete the preparation of the books for printing until January next year and shared his suggestions regarding the process.

The meeting also discussed events held in the year marking the 530th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet Mahammad Fuzuli. Recalling the decree of President Ilham Aliyev on “Celebrating the 530th Anniversary of the Great Azerbaijani Poet Mahammad Fuzuli”, Academician Isa Habibbeyli spoke in detail about the events organized by ANAS, including international scientific conferences and exhibitions, the high representation of ANAS staff at various themed meetings held in our country and abroad, and the books published by the Academy throughout the year. He also underlined that the events dedicated to the 530th anniversary of Mahammad Fuzuli, organized by ANAS, would conclude with speeches at the event to be held at the Opera and Ballet Theater at the end of November, and a collective viewing of the opera “Leyli and Majnun” by ANAS staff.

The meeting also discussed the issue of holding reporting meetings and scientific discussions on scientific research works carried out at ANAS in 2024. Relevant instructions were given to the timely and high-quality preparation of the publication, reflecting the report of the scientific divisions of ANAS and the significant scientific findings of its research institutions, for print.

The Vice-Presidents of ANAS, Academicians Rasim Aliguliyev, Dilgam Taghıyev, Irada Huseynova, Acting Vice-President of ANAS Govhar Bakhshaliyeva, and Academic-Secretary, Academician Arif Hashimov made speeches at the meeting, presenting their suggestions and opinions. The Chairman of the Free Trade Union of ANAS, PhD in political science, Sanan Hasanov, also provided relevant information on the issues under discussion.

The meeting was attended by the members of the Presidium of ANAS and heads of the departments of Presidium administration.
