ANAS Central Scientific Library (CSL) continues works on informing the public about new bulks included in the book foundations.

On April 14, CSL presented a newly created bulk book of Nakhchivan Department. Opening the presentation Vice-President of ANAS Academician Isa Habibbayli drew attention to the vital measures that had fulfilled in latest years in the direction of learning science, culture and literature, including promotion of Nakhchivan region, which has centuries-old history.

Informing about a book “History of Nakchchivan”, he noted that the publication is a monumental monographic research, which reflects ancient history, level of development during separate stages, prominent political-literary personalities and the struggle for independence of this integral part of Azerbaijan. By the decision of chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov dated August 6, 2012, teacher staff working at the ANAS Nakhchivan Department and Nakhchivan State University has developed 3 volume of “Nakhchivan history” book. Presidium of ANAS made a decision on submission of authors’ board of 3 volume of “Nakhchivan history” book to the State Prize of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2016, he added.

Later on, director of the Institute of Caucasian Study Professor Musa Gasimly stated his familiarization with the book included in the bulk. Bulk is rich of works, reflecting historical past of Azerbaijan people. These works narrate on geographical points and their existence in the territory of Nakchivan once more proves the region as an ancient land. In its turn, this is a sharp fact for Armenians, who forwarded territorial claims to Nakhchivan.

Director of CSL PhD in Medical Sciences Leyla Imanova informed on the bulks submitted up to day. She mentioned that, ongoing bulk has been created at the initiative of Acad. Isa Habibbayli and covers precious works of history, archeology and ethnography, folklore and national values of this ancient land.

At the event, chief of Reader-user service-department Sevil Mammadova noted that, over 300 books have been brought from Nakhchivan Department of ANAS to the library for the bulk. Bulk was positioned at the additional foundation of CSL’s Academicians’ hall and commissioned by readers. Here includes literatures embracing history, archeology, literature, art, politics, religion and literature. In addition, a number of encyclopedias and editions on the texts of ancient monuments of language are also included in the bulk.
