The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Adil Kerimli, and the President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), academician Isa Habibbeyli, visited the Scientific Fund of the ANAS Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology and became acquainted with the material culture artifacts discovered during archaeological research conducted in 2025.
Farhad Guliyev, Director of the ANAS Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology and Associate Professor, PhD in History, introduced the visitors to the fund and provided information on the newly exhibited findings. During the discussion, it was emphasized that cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology will continue in the future to ensure suitable conditions for the preservation of Azerbaijan’s material culture artifacts in line with modern standards, to create a consolidated register of findings, to develop digital documentation of the artifacts, and to establish relevant laboratories for their detailed study and restoration.
Subsequently, the guests visited the Museum Exhibition Hall of the ANAS Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology, located in the Icherisheher (Old City). Farhad Guliyev briefed the visitors on the essence of the exhibition demonstrating the antiquity of the Azerbaijani people, discussed the exhibition concept, and highlighted the tasks and challenges faced by museum archaeology. Discussions were held on establishing the museum in accordance with modern international standards.
The guests were accompanied by Shovqu Hasenov, Deputy Director for General Affairs of the ANAS Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology, Valeh Alekberov, Head of the International Relations Department, and Orkhan Zamanov, Head of the Scientific Exhibition Organization Department.
