Final round of “Republic Olympiad on computer science among students” held

On April 30, ANAS Institute of Information Technology held the final round of “Republic Olympiad on computer science among students”, dedicated to the 17 May –World Telecommunication and Information Society. Event co-organized by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Ministry of Education, Institute of Information Technology, and the Ministry of Communication and High Technologies.

Final round of Olympiad was attended by 13 teams of 13 higher educational ventures of the republic.

The significance of this Olympiad was highlighted by Deputy Minister of Communication and High Technologies Elmir Valizadeh and Academician-Secretary of ANAS, Academician Rasim Alguliyev.

It was noted that the aim of the Olympiad consistently is held since 2007, is of increasing interest high school students in computer science, programming knowledge, including attracts them into the international competitions across the field. The young people, who elected in such kind of Olympiads and capable of innovative thinking in the information and communication technologies, decently represent our country in international competitions.

Then were informed about the terms of the competition, in which are represented higher educational ventures of Baku, Ganja, Nakhchivan, Mingachevir, and Sumgayit. Noted that, Olympiad is carried out for international "ACM / ICPC" (International Olympiad in computer science among teams of high school students) and "101" (International Olympiad in computer science among students) rules through the site e-olymp.com.

Afterwards, final round of the Olympiad was carried out. During the competition, each team was tasked to resolve the issue of 10 for five hours. The first round of the Olympiad was attended by 55 teams from country's 22 higher educational ventures.

According to the rules, only one team with the best results for each institution wins the final round. Four teams with best results will be declared the winner at final.

Winners will be awarded with precious gifts from "HP", "Pomegranate" and "Caspian Telecom" companies, including diplomas and certificates by the Ministry of Communication and High Technologies.
