Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On May 12, within the project “Dialog with contemporaries”, Azerbaijan Composers’ Union (ACU) held a meeting with President of ANAS Academician Akif Alizadeh on topic “Role of Heydar Aliyev in development of intellectual potential of the country”.

In a meeting, chairman of ACU, People’s Artist Professor Firangiz Alizadeh made speech on collaboration of ANAS with the venture led by her, activities of Akif Alizadeh, highly appreciated scientist’s merits in development of geology science in Azerbaijan.

Speaking about the creation of Mugham study department in ANAS, she expressed confidence that, it will contribute for development of collaboration between two parties.

Academician Akif Alizadeh told about Heydar Aliyev’s merits in prospering Azerbaijan science, culture and art and promoting in the world. During both periods of his management in the country national leader always cared these fields.

After national leader’s returning to the power for the second time, threat of closing academy has been prevented and began new development stage in domestic science. Noted that, a great portion of the development of ANAS referred to the name of national leader. Genius leader’s ideas and targets, directed to sparkle future of Azerbaijan science, are being successfully implemented in various spheres of academy, noted academician.

He also brought to mind that, a notable statesman always attached great importance to intellectual growth in the country and education of the youth in abroad. Thanks to farsighted policy and initiative of national leader Heydar Aliyev, several Azerbaijanis were sent to the most prestigious highest schools of the USSR. Currently, majority of these staff are successfully functioned in different governmental bodies of the republic.

It was noted that, a great leader always paid special attention to the development of science, culture and art. Representatives of culture and the arts were regularly awarded by high awards and honorary titles.

Academician A. Alizadeh appreciated the merits of ACU and Professor Firangiz Alizadeh in the successful representation of Azerbaijani music in our country and abroad, as well as effective cooperation with the Academy of this structure.

Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli spoke about the reforms carried out at the Academy in recent years under the guidance of Academician Akif Alizadeh, international relations of this structure with the leading scientific institutions in the world.

He also informed about the integration of Azerbaijani science into the world.

I.Habibbeyli noted the special significance of the first meeting with Academician Akif Alizadeh in the history of the academy.

Meeting in which continued an exchange of opinions, Academician A. Alizadeh responded questions of participants.
