Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

A group of specialists from Portugal, engaged in museum work, visited Icheri Sheher – exposition department of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS on May 17.

Delegation composed of 40 individuals came to our country under the auspices of the Azerbaijan National Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM).

Delegation was greeted by chairman of Azerbaijan National Committee Professor Roya Taghiyeva. Within the event co-organized with “Icheri Sheher” History Museum, Portuguese delegation members were acquainted with archeological artifacts at the exposition museum of the aforementioned institute.

The guests watched the short film jointly casted by Institute of Archeology and Ethnography and Azerbaijan Archeologists’ Society.

Delegation head, Vice-President of ICOM European Section, President of Friends’ Club of the Lisbon Archeology Museums Luis Raposo spoke about activities of the Portugal museums.

Meeting was attended by Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Portugal to Azerbaijan Maria Joao Lopes Cardoso.
