Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

ANAS Presidium held a regular meeting of the Bureau of Human Sciences (BHS) On May 20.

Opening the session Academician-Secretary of the Department, Academician Teymur Kerimli briefed the participants on issues on the agenda.

Further, Acting Director of the Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi, corresponding member of ANAS Naghisoylu Mohsun spoke on "Language Policy in Azerbaijan in the period of independence and future challenges".

It was noted that, the national leader Heydar Aliyev possessed big merits in the field of development of national language and the state, and also their recognition on the international scene.

Language policy is a component part of the policy of the state construction of the great leader Heydar Aliyev.

Heydar Aliyev has always attached great importance to the national language of the Azerbaijani people.

Stressing the importance of the documents signed by national leader Heydar Aliyev in connection the language, Naghisoylu Mohsun reminded that, it is due to the great leader policy in all government and non-governmental organizations was approved the state language and completed the transition to the Latin alphabet.

It was stressed that, the policy of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, aimed at the development of the Azerbaijani language, its promotion and protection against external influences, purity, now are successfully continued by AR President Ilham Aliyev.

The language policy of the outstanding statesman Heydar Aliyev in the field of development of our native language became the real school which experience will be constantly used.

After listening report, the sides exchanged views on the subject. It was considered expedient to submit a report on the meeting of the Presidium.

At the meeting it was also discussed issues regarding the changes in the structure of institutions and organizations of BHS and celebration of the 70th anniversary of corresponding member of ANAS Naghisoylu Mohsun.

Finally, were discussed a number of scientific and organizational and staffing issues.
