As part of the 40th General Assembly of the European Seismological Commission (ESC), a meeting of the General Assembly of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) was held.
During the EMSC General Assembly meeting, issues related to the operational monitoring of earthquakes, the exchange of seismological data, the development of international cooperation, the improvement of systems for the rapid determination of earthquake parameters, and the future areas of activity of the EMSC were discussed. Holding the EMSC General Assembly within the framework of the ESC General Assembly makes an important contribution to the development of scientific and institutional cooperation among seismological communities in Europe and the Mediterranean region.
The Republican Seismic Survey Center (RSSC) under ANAS was represented at the meeting online via the Zoom platform by Saida Ismayilova, Head of the Earthquake Research Bureau, PhD in Earth Sciences, and Sabina Kazimova, Head of the Department of Dynamics of earthquake sources, PhD in Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Associate Professor.
Participation in the meeting provided an opportunity to learn about current trends in the development of European seismology, new approaches to seismicity monitoring, the international exchange of operational seismological data, and prospects for future scientific cooperation among seismological organizations.
