Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Paper co-authored by Academicians Jalal Aliyev, Irada Huseynova and PhD in Biology N.F.Sultanova published in 2014 in the “Plant Physiology and Biochemistry (PPB)” visualization of ROS and antioxidant response to viral infections of vegetable crops grown in Azerbaijan" won the first place in the top list 20 of the papers published in this area.

It should be noted that, the study of viral diseases infecting fruit trees and vegetable crops, first started in 2007 under the leadership of Academician Jalal Aliyev. The result revealed a number of viruses, consisting of DNA and RNA molecular diagnostics performed their fully carried taxonomic identification at the species and molecular level, defined biochemical, biophysical and physiological parameters plants infected with pathogens. Completely new to the world of science results have been achieved.

PPB journal is produced by Elsevier and has the effect of an impact factor equal to 2.756. Paper of the Azerbaijani scientists is devoted to studying of the free radicals arising in plants during pathogenesis of a virus and research of a role of systems of antioxidant protection in their elimination. Important results in this direction are reached.

Note that, there aren't enough researches on studying of structurally functional changes in plants during interrelation a plant virus.

Journal of PPB which has been included into the influential portal Publ.med is the official publication of the Federation of European Societies of Plant Biologists and the French Society of Plant Biologists.

In the journal are published theoretical, experimental and technical results about biochemistry, physiology and a structure of plants, etc.
