Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The book "Turkman dynasty" (excerpts from "The Cambridge History of Iran" about the history of the Azerbaijani state and Garagoyunlu Aghgoyunlu) was published according to the decision of the Academic Council of ANAS Institute of History after A.A.Bakihanov.

Translation from English into Russian of the section from the 6th volume of the multi-volume set "Cambridge History of Iran" book devoted to history of the states of Garagoyunlu and Aghgoyunlu and their dynasties.

Translation of the book was carried out scientific employee of the Institute, PhD in History Nargiz Akhundova.

Note that, the historical study included in the multi-volume "Cambridge History of Iran", was carried out based on the data of medieval European and Oriental sources. As addition to the translation, in the book is allocated place for the dictionary of terms, dynastic names and names.

Executive editor of the project and author of the "Preface" is the director of the Institute of History, corresponding member of ANAS Yagub Mahmudov.

The publication is intended for historians, teachers, students, general readers interested in the history of Azerbaijan of the Middle Ages.

In addition, the book can use as a reference for the major historical events that took place in the states Aghgoyunlu and Garagoyunlu in the XV century.
