At Nakhchivan Department of ANAS the scientific seminar “Archaeological research in the Gamigaya area.” was held

The event was opened by the director of the Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography of the Nakhchivan Department of ANAS, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Fahreddin Veyselli, who spoke on targeted activities related to the study sites located on the territory of the autonomous republic.

The scientist noted that the quantity of the registered monuments in Nakhchyvan's territory reached 1202 which part is in vicinities of Gemigaya: “Monument researches Gemikaya began in the 70th years of the XX century – in the period of the first board of the National leader Heydar Aliyev.

During the event, chef Department of Archaeology and Ancient Middle Ages, PhD in history Togrul Khalilov gave detailed information about the archaeological research in the area Gamigaya.

In conclusion, the chairman of Nakhchivan Branch of ANAS Ismail Hajiyev noted that the study of the history of Nakhchivan and the study of historical monuments located on the territory of the autonomous republic are of great importance.
