Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

ANAS Academician-Secretary of the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences, Academician Ahliman Amiraslanov met with head of International Departments of Bioethics Network under UNESCO, Professor Amnon Carmi.

Deputy Chairman on "Bioethics, Science, Knowledge and Ethic Technology" National Committee, Academician Irada Huseynova and Doctor of Medical sciences Vugar Mammadov and Scientific-Secretary of the committee PhD in Biology Gulnara Balakishiyeva attended the event.

Greeting the guest, Academician Ahliman Amiraslanov spoke about history of this committee, activities and on projects implemented here. Academician said that, the committee was established in 1999 and was led by outstanding scientist, Academician Jalal Aliyev.

In CIS after Russia and Ukraine, Azerbaijan is the third country, where this committee was created. It was noted that, for many years in many organizations, including the Department of Bioethics of the Medical University operating successfully. A.Amiraslanov said that, cooperation between the National Committee and Bioethics Commission of UNESCO at the high level and stressed the importance of further expansion of bilateral ties in the future.

Professor Amnon Carmi, in turn spoke about the organization's activities. He offered to develop a program on conduction of local, regional and international conferences in the future

The proposals were warmly welcomed by National Committee's leadership.
