On September 19, at the electron hall of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami of ANAS was held a preparatory meeting devoted to referendum. The meeting co-organized by NAP organization of ANAS and Council of Young Scientists and Specialists, aimed at exchanging views on referendum related to proposed amendments to the Constitution of AR on the scientific arena.
Vice-President of ANAS Academician Isa Habibbeyli opened the meeting and stated that, rapidly development of the independent Azerbaijan, enhancing of international ties, as well as modern processes in the world constantly brings in new reforms. Scientist made speech on Referendum Act of the Republic of Azerbaijan by President Ilham Aliyev “On the amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan” and appreciated the publicly discussion of this project as a need in life of society. He noted that, amendments put forward by the head of state pave the way for reinforcing the achievements during 25 years of independence and obtaining new successes and innovations in all spheres.
Vice-President of ANAS brought to mind science promotion, involve of young cadres in academy, integration of science and education in latest years, including complex measures in development of global ties.
At the end of his speech, I. Habibbeyli noted about amendments envisaged to 29 articles of the referendum, and invited everyone to take part in the vote and demonstrate their civic position.
Reporting at the meeting, chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of ANAS Assoc. Prof. Famin Salmanov highlighted that amendments to the act of removing the age limit is the confidence of Azerbaijan state in his youth. “Referendum elections, which designed to reinforce the democratic and legal state-building in the 25 years of independence, is a progressive event”, he said.
Scientist stated that, the policy pursued by the Azerbaijani government in each area firstly is favor of the citizens, and proposed amendments to the constitution will ensure the sustainability of political and economic reforms in the country. Along with a significant impact on the creation of an integrated management model, amendments will put an end to the creation of internal military threats, noted F.Salmanov.
Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi Jahid Ismayiloghlu, researcher at the same institute Rasim Heydarov, chairman of NAP organization at the Institute of Literature Khadija Iskenderli and others spoke at the meeting and sounded their suggestions.
