Next year the Azerbaijani and French archaeologists will conduct excavations in Goranboy and Tovuz regions.

In accordance with the agreement on joint research, reached between the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography and the National Centre for Scientific Research of France, the excavations will be carried out by Azerbaijani PhD in History Farhad Guliyev, Muzaffar Huseynov, Bakhtiyar Jalilov and French Professor Bertil Leonetti and Coolio Palumbo.

On the territory of Goranboy and Tovuz regions were carried out preliminary work in connection with the archaeological research, collected a large number of archaeological materials.

There are a continuation of the broad archaeological excavations in the monuments of the period of the Late Chalcolithic and Early Bronze Age, situated on the territory of the above-mentioned areas.

Samples of material culture, achieved in the course of research will be analyzed in advanced laboratories of Europe.
